I will say I think the summary given by Carnivale is a great jumping off point for all discussions of treatment for PTSD. If you have never experienced it, you can simply have no idea. The symptoms, as well as their progenitor, can only be experienced. PTSD is not a new article or a shitty movie. It is every moment of every day.
It is being terrified because your wife walks into the room and you did not hear her announce herself. There is much to unpack with PTSD, this is an excellent first step. If it was not for weed, I would not be alive today, simple as that.
(Marine veteran Kayla) Carnivale says she understands the hurdles and that some people might object to the drug’s use, “But until you’re in our shoes and you have our pain, and you have the type of nightmares and lack of sleep and all that that comes with being a disabled war veteran, then you really can’t say anything to us.”
From the end of the article,
“VA is supporting a study to test the efficacy of Cannabidiol (CBD) as a potential adjunctive therapy for PTSD. Unlike tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), CBD is non-intoxicating and has no known abuse liability. The CBD to be used in this study will be produced commercially,” the VA San Diego Healthcare System told NBC7 in a statement.
